At Mulberry Silverdale Primary, we believe that learning extends well beyond the classroom. In line with our curriculum intent—to inspire every child, build on prior learning, and develop confident, compassionate and socially responsible young people—we provide a rich and inclusive programme of extracurricular opportunities that enable all pupils to flourish.
Rooted in the values of the Mulberry Schools Trust, our provision reflects a commitment to equity, excellence and empowerment. We aim to ensure that every child, regardless of starting point, has access to high-quality enrichment experiences that develop their talents, interests and personal strengths. This supports our broader curriculum implementation, which is ambitious, inclusive and designed to promote high expectations for all. With extensive grounds and excellent sporting facilities, Mulberry Silverdale Primary offers a wide range of opportunities across sport, arts and performance. Pupils have the opportunity to develop skills and excel in areas such as netball, football, athletics, badminton and tennis, alongside creative disciplines including drama, singing, music and the visual arts. These experiences reflect our curriculum aim to nurture curiosity, creativity, resilience and teamwork. Our extracurricular offer also supports the development of the Mulberry Schools Trust “Happiness Ninjas” learning dispositions—ambition, courage, determination, resilience, inspiration and dynamism. Through clubs and activities, pupils are encouraged to take risks, persevere, collaborate and express themselves confidently in a variety of contexts. Inclusive breakfast and after school provision ensures that pupils are supported before and after the school day. Our Breakfast Club provides a calm and welcoming start to the day, supporting pupils’ wellbeing and readiness to learn. Research consistently shows that a healthy breakfast supports concentration and cognitive performance, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring all pupils are prepared to achieve their best. Pupils are offered a nutritious breakfast and a range of quiet, structured activities before transitioning smoothly into the school day. Our After School Club extends this supportive environment, offering a safe, engaging and stimulating space where children can relax, socialise and participate in a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, games, reading, music, film and Forest School-inspired experiences. A healthy snack is provided daily, and the provision reflects our commitment to pupil wellbeing, creativity and personal development. During school holidays, our Holiday Club continues to provide high-quality care and enrichment. Offering a balance of structured activities and free play, it ensures continuity of care and engagement for families throughout the year. All provision is carefully planned in line with safeguarding requirements and appropriate staffing ratios, ensuring that pupils are always safe, supported and well cared for. Through our extracurricular and wraparound provision, Mulberry Silverdale Primary ensures that every child has the opportunity to develop their talents, build confidence and experience success. These opportunities enrich our curriculum and contribute to our shared goal of developing empowered, ambitious and resilient learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond school. Activities include Art and Crafts, Board and Card games, Book Corner, Chill Out Area, Forest School, Movie nights, Music and many more things to suit your child. After School Club
